WHAT IS THE GOLF CANADA FOUNDATION 50/50?

The 50/50 raffle administered by Golf Canada Foundation is a licensed raffle by the AGCO (Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario), where individuals purchase ticket(s) for the opportunity to win 50% of the total money raised through the sale of 50/50 tickets for the 2022 CP Women’s Open at Ottawa Hunt & Golf Club.

WHERE DOES THE OTHER 50% OF THE JACKPOT GO?

The other 50% of the jackpot (minus permitted program expenses related to running the raffle) will be allocated to Golf Canada Foundation for charitable purposes and community program investments such as First Tee – Ontario.

IS THIS THE SAME DRAW THAT HAPPENS AT THE CP WOMEN’S OPEN?

Yes. The Golf Canada Foundation Online 50/50 is part of the same raffle that happens on-site at the CP Women’s Open from August 24th - 28th, 2022.

HOW IS THE WINNING NUMBER DRAWN?

The draw is done after the end of play (once the final putt drops) on Sunday, August 28th, 2022. A unique winning number is randomly generated and issued by the electronic 50/50 Raffle System out of the numbers purchased for that particular draw.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM, OR MAXIMUM, PRIZE?

The guaranteed minimum prize is $5,000.

WHAT ARE THE ODDS OF WINNING?

The odds of winning the Prize are based on the number of Numbers sold during an event.

DO I HAVE BETTER ODDS ONLINE?

Your odds of winning do not change based on the manner in which you purchase your 50/50 raffle ticket, online and on-site sales have the same odds of winning. The odds of winning the Prize are based on the number of Numbers sold during an event.

CAN I PLAY MORE THAN ONCE IN A GAME?

Yes. You can purchase more than one ticket for the event. The limit is $1,000 per participant per draw.

IF I WIN – CAN I PLAY AGAIN?

Absolutely! If you are a previous 50/50 winner, you remain eligible to win future 50/50 raffles if you continue to meet all the terms of eligibility.

WHAT IS THE CUT OFF TO PURCHASE A 50/50 TICKET?

Both online and on-site sales will close at the end of play (once the final putt drops) on Sunday, August 28th, 2022.

HOW CAN I PURCHASE 50/50 TICKETS?

Tickets for the Golf Canada Foundation 50/50 Raffle can be purchased by eligible purchasers:

In person from a Golf Canada Foundation seller at Ottawa Hunt & Golf Club at the CP Women’s Open from August 24th to 28th, 2022.

If you are located in the Province of Ontario, and meet eligibility requirements, you can purchase 50/50 tickets online at golfcanada5050.com.

Our online 50/50 website accepts the following payment types:

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND OR RETURN POLICY?

All 50/50 Raffle Ticket sales (online or in-person) are final and may not be exchanged or refunded.

I PURCHASED A 50/50 TICKET BUT DIDN’T GET MY NUMBERS – WHAT DO I DO?

If you purchased your 50/50 ticket but did not receive your numbers, please contact foundation5050@golfcanada.ca and one of our staff will re-send you your raffle numbers.

If your transaction completed successfully your numbers will still be part of the draw and you have 180 days from the draw date to claim your prize.

AM I ELIGIBLE TO PURCHASE ONLINE 50/50 TICKETS?

If you meet the following criteria, you are eligible to purchase online 50/50 tickets:

Must be 18 years or older at the time of purchase.

Must be located within the Province of Ontario at time of purchase.

Must not be a one of the following:

-Member of Golf Canada Foundation’s Board of Directors;

-Full time, part-time or student employees of Golf Canada Foundation;

-Persons who are directly on the Foundation’s payroll and members of their immediate family;

-The Foundation’s employees who are on paid or unpaid leave;

-An employee of the Alcohol Gaming Commission of Ontario;

-Employees of the supplier of the 50/50 System who are involved with the development and/or support of the 50/50 System; and

-Such other persons designated from time to time as Related Parties by the Foundation.

Note: Prior to the purchase of a Ticket, you will be required to verify your eligibility and that the information is complete and accurate.

DO I HAVE TO LIVE IN ONTARIO TO PLAY?

You do not need to live in the province of Ontario to purchase a 50/50 ticket but you do need to be physically located within the province of Ontario at the time of purchase of your online 50/50 ticket to be eligible to play.

HOW DO I FIND OUT IF I HAVE THE WINNING 50/50 NUMBER?

The winning 50/50 number will be drawn at the end of play on Sunday, August 28th, 2022. Once the winning 50/50 number has been drawn, you can find it and the estimated prize amount displayed on all on-site 50/50 kiosk screens, and found on the Golf Canada Foundation website (golfcanadafoundation.com).

WILL YOU CONTACT ME IF I HAVE THE WINNING 50/50 NUMBER?

No. We are not able to contact the winner to advise them that they have won. The purchaser of the ticket with the winning 50/50 number must contact Golf Canada Foundation to complete the prize claims process.

IF I HAVE THE WINNING 50/50 NUMBER HOW DO I CLAIM MY PRIZE?

The Prize must be claimed, upon presentation of a Winning Ticket:

- in person on the Draw Date at the Event Site by attending any point of sale location;

-in person after the Draw Date at the Foundation’s offices located at 1-1333 Dorval Drive, Oakville ON L6M 4X7;

-or by mailing the Winning Ticket to the Foundation’s offices.

Prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the Draw Date where the 1st day of the 180 days is the day after the Draw Date. In the event that a prize has not been claimed at the expiry of the 180 day period, the prize will be donated by Golf Canada Foundation to an eligible charity approved in advance by the AGCO.

HOW DO I GET MY WINNINGS?

Prizes will be paid by cheque payable to the Winner, delivered within 30 days of verification of a Winning Ticket.

 

CAN I BUY A TICKET AS PART OF A GROUP?

A prize may be shared between multiple Winners, however, in the event of a dispute, the Foundation will issue the cheque in the name of the Person who has physical possession of the Ticket. Where the ticket is electronic, the Foundation will issue the prize cheque to the person whose name the ticket was purchased under.

CAN SOMEONE CLAIM THE PRIZE FOR ME?

No. Only the original and eligible purchaser of the winning ticket may claim the prize.

WHAT DO YOU DO WITH MY PURCHASE INFORMATION? IS THE TRANSACTION SECURE?

All transactions are secure and we do not receive or keep any credit card information.

WILL YOU PUBLISH MY NAME?

Not without your consent.

ARE MY PRIZE WINNINGS TAXABLE?

No. Raffle prizes awarded in Ontario are not taxable.

CAN I GET A TAX RECEIPT?

No. A purchase of a 50/50 ticket is not a donation and according to CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) Regulations, is not eligible for a charitable tax receipt.

WHAT CURRENCY DO I GET PAID IN?

All transactions and winnings are paid in Canadian Dollars. Prizes will be paid by cheque payable to the winner.
